Worker packing aluminum coil in kraft paper for export

Packaging and handling.

How Orbit packs coil for export, and how to handle and store it on arrival.

How we pack

Export packing.

01

Surface protection

Coil is wrapped, with kraft paper and protective layers as appropriate, to guard the surface, especially on prepainted coil.

02

Eye and edge protection

The coil eye and edges are supported and protected so the coil holds its shape and the leading edge stays clean.

03

Strapping & banding

Radial and axial strapping secures the wrap so the coil stays bound during handling and transit.

04

Pallets & skids

Coil is mounted on pallets or skids suited to fork and crane handling and to container loading for export.

05

Labelling

Each coil is tagged with lot and specification details so it is traceable on arrival.

06

Container loading

Coil is loaded and secured for sea freight from Aqaba to Europe and North America.

Handling and storage on site.

Once it arrives, a few basics protect the coil: lift from the eye with the correct tooling, keep it dry and off the ground, store indoors away from condensation, and leave the wrapping on until you are ready to run. Prepainted coil in particular should be kept clear of moisture and abrasion.

Protecting finish and edges through long transit

Coated coil for export can spend weeks in transit and varying humidity, so packaging protects the coating surface and the coil edges. Surface protection (protective film and wrapping) guards the finish against abrasion and marking; edge and eye protection prevents damage to the coil edges and bore during handling and container loading; and secure strapping and palletizing keep the coil stable in a moving container. Lot tagging maintains traceability from dispatch to receipt. Orbit packs coil for sea and land export with these protections, and supplies handling and storage guidance.

Common questions.

How is prepainted coil protected?

Prepainted coil is wrapped to protect the coated surface, with kraft paper and protective layers as appropriate, then strapped and palletised. Keep the wrapping on until you are ready to process.

Can you pack to our requirements?

Packing is arranged to suit export by sea and your handling setup. If you have specific packing or labelling requirements, tell us with your enquiry and we will confirm what we can do.

How should coil be stored on arrival?

Store indoors, dry and off the ground, away from condensation and abrasion. Lift from the eye with the correct tooling and keep coil wrapped until it goes on the line.

Specific packing requirement?

Tell us your handling and labelling needs, we will confirm the packing. Include your application, substrate (aluminum or steel), alloy, gauge, width, coating, color, quantity and destination. We respond to RFQs within one business day.
