Dark bronze aluminum composite panel facade

PVDF / PE · tight-flatness skins

Aluminum coil for ACP panels — PVDF and PE, tight flatness.

Flat, consistent-gauge coil for composite panel skins, finished in any RAL color with PVDF or PE systems.

  • PVDF or PE
  • Skin gauge around 0.50 mm
  • Tight flatness
  • RAL or custom color

Application

Flatness and finish.

Any gauge variation telegraphs through the laminated panel. Flat, even-tension coil with PVDF architectural coatings holds facade-grade color and gloss, matched to your reference.

ACP requirements

An aluminum composite panel is two aluminum skins bonded to a core (polyethylene or fire-retardant mineral). The panel's flatness and finish come directly from the skin coil, so leveling and coating consistency are critical; any coil shape defect or color variation shows on the finished facade. PVDF is the architectural standard for exterior ACP because the facade must hold color for decades.

Forming

Skins are coil-coated flat on a continuous line, then bonded to the core by the panel maker; even film build and strong adhesion matter because a laminated panel cannot be refinished once assembled. As general industry practice, the fabricator routs and folds the finished panel to form returns and corners, so the coil has to arrive flat and consistently coated. Orbit supplies that skin coil, see prepainted aluminum coil.

Quality & compliance

Testing and documentation.

Certified production

Production is certified to ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment) and ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety).

Tests that matter here

Coated coil is checked on a panel of tests including adhesion, T-bend flexibility, gloss retention and color difference (delta E). See quality & certifications for how this is documented.

Documentation with the batch

Material certificates accompany every batch; ASTM and EN references are available on request.

ACP coil questions.

What is an aluminum composite panel (ACP)?

An aluminum composite panel, or ACP, is two thin aluminum skins bonded to a core, used as a flat, lightweight facade material (general industry knowledge). Orbit supplies the coated coil for the skins, not the finished sandwich panel.

What aluminum is used in ACP?

The skin is thin coated aluminum coil, around 0.50 mm, bonded to a core to form the panel. It needs tight flatness and a durable coating so no defect shows on the finished facade.

What coating is used for exterior ACP?

PVDF is the architectural standard for exterior composite panel facades, because it holds color and gloss through years of UV and weather.

Can Orbit supply metallic finishes for ACP?

Yes. Orbit supplies metallic and other special finishes alongside solid colors, matched to your reference.

What thickness is typical for ACP skins?

ACP skin gauge is typically around 0.50 mm. The exact gauge is confirmed per order.

What is the minimum order?

The minimum order is 6.5 MT, plus or minus 10 percent.

What to send with your RFQ.

Include these and we can return a coil specification and quote without back-and-forth.

  • Application and substrate (aluminum or steel)
  • Alloy and temper, if known
  • Gauge and coil width
  • Coating system and color (a RAL number or a sample)
  • Quantity and destination port

Our technical office reviews every RFQ and replies with a specification and quote. We respond to RFQs within one business day.
